Standard Kingston vs Hyper-X vs G-Skill && 1333 vs 2133

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy some RAM soon, finally upgrading from 4gb to 8gb and was probably going to get this 8gb kit here:
http://www.centrecom.com.au/kingston-kvr13n9s8k28-8gb-2x4gb-1333mhz-ddr3
It's just standard Kingston RAM.

1. I was wondering if there would be any benefit in going for the Kingston Hyper-X brand or the G-Skill Ripjaws or something like that?

2. Also I'd like to know if there is any noticeable difference between 1333mhz, 1600mhz and 2133mhz say in gaming or anything. The most demanding game I play is probably BF4, would there be a difference in that game between 1333 and 2133?

3. I also can't tell what speeds exactly my motherboard supports. It's an Asus P7H55-M Pro (yeah it's old) and the box says it supports 1066, 1333 and 2133 (OC), but the manual has a list of supported 1600 modules. But it's hard to tell if it's specific to this motherboard or not.

4. Also, does the 2133 (OC) part mean that I can not buy sticks that are rated at 2133 but I could overclock a lower speed stick to 2133?

I think I'd rather save myself the headache and go for the 1333mhz RAM but it's all kinda confusing and I'd like to know first. So if anyone can provide some info on all this, I would really appreciate it. Sorry for so many questions, but thanks for your time.

I see I was looking at the wrong one, I have an i5-750, which is Lynnfield. So it does have support for exactly one 2133 set. This was last updated in 2010 though, so I suppose it's likely that it would support other, newer sets of RAM, right?

Your CPU is capped at 16GB MAX @ 1333 MHz MAX and it has to be (2x8GB)

Why though? Is there a real difference? I mean, I've had my current 4gb of Kingston for 5 years now, and I haven't had a single issue. But I don't know if other brands would have better performance or something.

It's just personal preference that's all. I also had a bad experience with G Skill so I avoid them at all costs, Newegg saved me on that one. Cost is also a factor as well as the aesthetics of the heatsink and color.

Oh I didn't even think of checking the CPU documentation, that's really good to know. I guess I probably shouldn't bother thinking about speeds then. :)

Well for some reason here in Australia, Kingston is a bit less than the others and prices in general are a bit weird. It's a shame that Newegg charges about $20 in shipping. Otherwise I'd buy from them.

Prices for DDR3 should start dropping soon now that DDR4 is here and X99 as well as future Intel CPU's, CPU Architecture and Intel Chipsets. But that's just my speculation.

Dropping? Prices have been going up due to the lower production to accommodate the production of DDR4. If anything DDR3 will prob continue to rise as did DDR2 (can currently get a 4GB stick of DDR3 for $40-$45, a 4GB stick of DDR2 is closer to $100)

Hence I said it's my speculation.

Yeeeah I just looked at DDR2 prices at newegg.com, I had no idea. I just assumed if there was less demand for older tech then it would be cheaper.
