whenever i tried to plug in my external hard drive to the front panel usb 3.0 of my Corsair 200R the other day I got a little pop-up in windows saying 'USB Device Not Recognised'. i unplugged it, tried it again and even tried something completely different (my webcam) and nothing worked; same result. i have googled for hours on end and have tried installing drivers, mucking about in device manager, unplugging the pc from the wall and leaving it for 10 minutes. nothing working.

i thought it was because i had re-cable-managed my cables earlier and i had removed the usb 3.0 header from the motherboard and re-routed it. the head unplugged strangely, and i had to use a large amount of force to get it off. i opened up my pc and unplugged the header again and checked for bent pins. there seemed to be none. i noticed the port on the motherboard (the plastic bit) seemed a little wonky, so i forced it down, ensuring it was firmly on the mobo. then, i plugged the header back in again, further making sure that it was seated correctly and firmly.

after that fiasco i re-booted up my pc and tried something different again; a usb card reader. the same thing happened again: 'USB Device Not Recognised'.

the USB 3.0 on the back of pc (on the mobo) work perfectly fine, so im stumped. any suggestions? thanks :)
