Hi guys. Happy New Year first and foremost

i'm wondering right now, i want to build a pc for my lil bro, that utilize heavy gaming and high usage of auto cad, illustrator, sketch up etc..

but, the problem is,im on a tight budget, plus in the dilemma whether to choose amd or intel.
i done some research on both side, but im still on the ledge to go on either side.
do you guys have any recommendations for the build.

and the budget will be around $1000-$1500. The lower the better :wahoo:

With that budget, you can get an LGA 1150 Core i7 or Xeon E3. It'll match the 8-core AMD FX CPUs in multithreaded work, and outperform them in less threaded games. An LGA 2011-3 Core i7 would have even better multithreaded performance, but I think you're better off spending that money on the graphics card.

At that price you can get a i7 5860x+mobo which blows every thing AMD has out of the water.

Hell and overcloked 5820k should be enough for you , they are 300 bucks i think.

sure amdfan. that can be consider too.. are u a amd user too?

It can perform well, but not absolutely to its full potential.

If you want a solid build in the low end of your budget range, I'd suggest something like this:

You can substitute the case for any particular design you like, aesthetics are a big part of case choice.

I used to be but i switched to intel , AMD cpus are so bad .

When you see an i3 cpu beating a high end FX eight core at gaming its time to jump ship.

I still use a AMD gpu.

I go with whats better , in 2010 in i built my first pc the phenom II was competitive with intel cpus so i purchased that.

AMD has stayed on the dust while intel keeps improving and updating their cpus.

hahaha...i know right.. :wahoo:

That Xeon E3 is like a Core i7-4770 without integrated graphics.

There's no CPU overclocking with that build. Intel locks that down to more expensive K and X CPUs. You'd also want a more overclocking-oriented motherboard and a good CPU cooler for overclocking.
