Yesterday I got myself two 4GB Kingston HyperX Savage 1600MHz CL9 sticks of RAM. Note : I didn't buy a kit , I bought two separate 4 GB sticks (nothing else was in stock). Will they work in dual channel?
If you've bought 2 sticks the same but not in a kit it makes no difference mate.
They will be matched anyway.
I've done this in the past when it was £5 cheaper to buy 2x4gb sticks seperate than it was to buy a dual channel kit.
They might or might not work, it's a crapshoot, there are no guarantees when mixing packages of DRAM, even the same exact model, which is why they offer such a variety of sets - all sticks in a package are tested to work/play together.
^ same brand, same speed, same cas? - they'll work mate 100% you're worrying about nothing due to the comments above which are unfounded.
Doesn't matter if they were bought as a kit or not IMO.
I've mixed & matched completely different brands in the past & still got dual channel support from them.

Again, they might or might not, I have matching sets from two manufacturers I received for testing, and in both cases when put in a mobo together they wouldn't work, it's a crapshoot, maybe yes, maybe no, there is no guarantees. If they don't you can often get them to play with voltage/timing adjustments...but....and you can ask the manufacturers - they don't guarantee when mixing packages - EVEN the same exact model
What's the model #, else if they are 1600 or better and it's an Intel rig go into the BIOS and enable XMP select profile 1, if it's an AMD rig look for XMP, EOCP or DOCP and enable it then select the freq of the sticks which will set them to spec, or simply put in manually the freq, timings and DRAM voltage
