4TB hard drive issue when formatting

Hi,

Just bought a new 4TB hard drive and when i went to format it shows it as two different partitions one for 2GB and one for 1.6GB however i can only format the first 2GB and the second is "unallocated" and am unable to allocate it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, for being able to use more than 2 Gb.

Hi there Joe112,

I would agree with alexoiu and say that you will need to convert your drive to GPT.

Just keep in mind that this is a data destructive process. You should back up all of it before that.
