i can google stuff and go on certain websites fine, but some websites, including youtube say "The webpage is not available. the sever at www.youtube.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. [...] Error code: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED" it used to work fine, but after scanning with Malwarebytes anti-malware it did not work. i am on windows 8.1 and i don't think it is due to connection because i can google stuff just time.
Thanks!

Hi

Is this in all browsers IE Firefox chrome etc or only 1?

In windows settings
Normally there is no proxy server assigned but the PC owner or malware could install one to block users going to particular web sites
Eg banning social media web sites
Or banning anti virus web sites

I think there are usually two DNS servers configured in the Internet router
These are usually set by your ISP but if you have access you can change the settings

Examples from Norton Symantec
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v76078906_EndUserProfile_en_us

Are you this PC's owner and administrator ?
Suspect malware or ISP's proxy server is having problems

Or was it provided by a school or your parents
Suspect proxy servers which maybe locked down against change
