Sorry for another question, but which is better?

Solution
if you're not overclocking, the second option is the best from all the three, because intel is still faster per core than amd, and the gtx 970 is much better than the 290. the third option's prices are outdated, and will cost more then the original 750 bucks they posted.

The 970 is better than the 290, and I would choose it over the 290. But I wouldn't say it is "much" better.

Budget is 1.1k, want to be able to run all sorts of new games at high resolution at at least 30-60 fps

Alright, let me throw together a build suggestion for you real quick in that budget. Do you need a operating system, monitor, keyboard and mouse?

what do you consider high resolutions? 1440p? then a gtx 970 is a great deal.

But I would suggest trying to come up with another $50 to include a solid state drive for your boot drive. Also, these prices don't include any mail-in rebates that are available with these parts.
