My Acer Aspire laptop used to use the Nvidia correctly. Due to some unkown reason it now uses the onboard Intel HD Graphics 3000 with driver version 9.17.10.3347.
I didn't change anything in the Bios (it still shows the Nivdia).
The device tab show two adaptors (Intel and Nividia) and state that both work correctly.
I installed the latest Nvidia 64bit driver for the GT555M version 9.18.13.4709 correctly
All Nvidia proccesses are actif
The Gforce control panel does recognice the GT 555M GPU
The Intel control panel works correctly with the screen

I deinstalled/installed several Nivida drivers and ended with the 'latest game ready' one.
I removed the Intel device, causing Widows to setup a default VGA adaptor, so I needed to
install the latest Intel HD Driver.
I tried to down the Intel wich results in a black screen
I searched various fora for a solution/reason but could not find any.
Any advice would be very welcom.

Not a laptop owner here, but I've seen other threads with the same issue, apparently there's an option in Nvidia Control Panel that sets whether to use the Intel or the Nvidia graphics (latest drivers tend to try to use Intel one to save battery, with that option you can force the Nvidia chipset at all times or only when using 3d applications like games).
