So I just came back from this topic http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2455626/good-mon... about whether the LG was good or not since I don't really have a good idea about monitors. So I got an explanation about how I should have 144hz and at least 300cd/m^2.

So I looked around and found this pricey acus that seems to be exactly what I am looking for. However is it too good? I plan on building my PC with an MSI GTX970 4GB and it seems like it will be great for me! The ASUS has a 1ms response, 2560x1440 resolution, 350cd/m2 and some fancy USB3 ports. I also found a samsung which appears to be slightly better but at a lower price but takes away the USB ports (which I will never use)

Here are the links to both: ASUS - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=24-236-405
Samsung - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0JC-0007-00009

Edit: F.Y.I. I do photoshop, 3D Rendering, AutoCad, games like skyrim, assassin's creed, C.O.D.
So I am looking for a monitor with a fast refresh rate and nice color

Help is greatly appreciated! I still don't knoow a whole lot about montiors

Edit: Here are the fixed links

I think you've basically answered your own question. The Samsung monitor seems to be most suited to your requirements.

All of the links posted above give error messages, so it is not clear which specific models are of interest.

It is suggested that for graphics and CAD work, a monitor with a screen size of at least 24" be selected. And with high resolution also. The bigger the screen, the easier it is to use and view graphics details.

Aspect ratio of 16:10 preferred, as it is not quite so wide screen looking. Next best is 16:9 aspect ratio.

For gaming a fast monitor response time of around 1~2 ms is preferred.

With the above in mind, suggested monitors are -

Asus PB287Q.
Samsung U28D590D...

Funny the ASUS and the Samsung were the two I was looking at and the same ones that i quoted in my original post. I havn't heard of the last one you posted though. I think I will stick with the samsung even though the price is high but than usually with samsung you get what you payed for

Look into getting a G-Sync monitor if you are looking for top of the line equipment. Asus make some great ones that support 1440p, 144hz and no screen tearing.

I think they are about $260 each
