I had a working set-up until my son dropped his iPod on the mobo (don't ask). Now when I try to boot I can't even get to the Windows load screen; it makes it past the BIOS screen, the RAID screen (which by the way the RAID utility tells me that the config and the individual HDDs are healthy) and then gets stuck on a blank screen with a cursor blinking in the home position and the internal speaker short beeping repeatedly non-stop.

Suspecting that the mobo was damaged, I replaced it with a new mobo (same model), but am getting the same problem.

I have 2 seagate 500GB hdd's in the RAID 1 config. I was booting to windows from the RAID config prior to the incident. I have a 3rd seagate 350 gb HDD that is just used for excess storage. I should note that this 3RD drive was setup to boot to windows (it was my boot drive from an older computer setup); so if I unplug the 500GB HDDs and boot from the 3rd HDD I can get to and past the windows splash screen (I can't get it to any of my logins, but that's a different problem). The 500GB HDDs are connected to SATA ports 1 and 2, the optical drive and the 3rd HDD are connected to SATA ports 5 and 6. SATA ports 1-4 are set to RAID in BIOS; 5 and 6 are set to IDE. I am running Windows XP.

So I'm not sure why I cannot get a supposedly healthy RAID array to boot to windows like it was doing before.

I hadn't tried swapping ports; but I just did and got the same result. Also tried moving over to ports 3 & 4, with same result. Then switching between 3 & 4, still same result.

To answer your 2nd question, yes the BIOS is set for boot priority from the defined RAID volume.
