I have a £350/$600 budget to upgrade my pc. I want it to be good at gaming as well as handling videos as I do alot of video editing. I'm guessing I will need to upgrade GPU first to something such as the GTX 970 4gb overclocked?
Anyway here are my specs:
Intel core i5 3570k
500w power supply
8gb Kingston hyper x RAM
Gt 630 4gb overclocked
Asus motherboard DDR3
1tb seagate Hard Drive.
I would love some help on what to upgrade first.
Thanks for any help I get. By the way I can upgrade more than 1 thing...

yes, the gpu will give you an insane increase in gaming performance. It will not really effect video rendering performance unless your using an app that supports cuda. The cpu you have is pretty decent, i would go an ssd after you do the vid card as it will speed up transferring video files greatly.
What's the make and model of the PSU? If it's a decent one, a GTX 970 is certainly an option.

My order would be:
SSD (256GB MX100, or go the 128GB if your budget runs out) NOTE: you should reinstall your OS on the SSD... so a time investment required here too
GPU
PSU only if you need to.

With 8GB RAM and the 3570k you have a solid base, add an SSD and 970 and you have yourself a solid high end gaming rig.

Thanks for the input. By the way what is a GHP? Did you mean GPU or is it something else. Does the USB 3.0 help increase speed of transferring files? As I have two usb 3 slots and four usb 2 slots.

haha, yeah typeo, shoud be GPU. usb3 will help for some external hdd's.
