Been running a GTX 970 Gigabyte G1 Gaming in my rig for 2 months and I love it so much... NO COIL WHINE. ABSOOLUTELY NONE.

I have 1 quick question...

When the GPU is idling (browsing internet, typing documents, etc (basic stuff) the GPU is at around 300-400 Mhz. When doing gaming, the GPU is at about 1300 MHz which is what the card clock speed is. Is it normal for the speeds (in MHz) of the GPU to change?

Thank you all.

Yep, like other reply stated it's perfectly normal! Only time it would stay the same from doing nothing to gaming is if you've gone into Nvidia settings and set it to maximum performance, that keeps it at it's highest clock... Also, as a totally random side question... how are you liking your 970 and have you hit any issues with the 3.5/.5gb VRAM issue? Just ask bc I've seen so much fuss about it but when I was running mine even when it hit 3.7-3.9GB I never noticed any issues from it...
