I recently bought a used XFX AMD R9 290 video card. when i installed this item into my computer i first uninstalled all the driver and software for my old video card. the old video card was an ASUS AMD 7770HD. after uninstalling the old card drivers i rebooted and under the display driver the computer was using Microsoft's driver. so i know i completely wiped out the old drivers. I installed the new video card and used the disc that came with it to install the new drivers. after 20 mins my computer rebooted and after the first time it did it randomly after 1 or 5 or 10 mins. so i updated my motherboard drivers, bios, video card, and everything else i could think of and that didn't help.

1.GPU overheats the MBNB and/or cpu vrm area. -> bad mobo and badly ventilated case

2. GPU is too heavy and you might have a slight misalignment with your case causing problems for the contacts or even shorting the mobo somehow -> turn the pc on its side with the GPU on top - make sure you take the gpu out and you plug it back in AFTER you put the pc on the side; if this works you might want to try another case or tinker with the card until it fits.

3. PSU can't handle the load of the new card (most likely)

i bought a new case and psu when i bought the card the psu is a seasonic +80 gold x1250 highly recommended psu and there is no way im using 1250 watts. i have checked for misalignment and i have placed the case on its side and non of that helped i have 2 temp, sensors inside the case and one is right above the gpu at the back of the gpu in between it and the cpu and the temp between 79-82F all the time. the other sensor is above the cpu near the 2 top mounted exhast fans and the temp there is around 80-87F all the time. so im pretty sure im not over heating the mobo and if i am there is nothing i can do i have 2 120mm top mounted exhaust fans, 1 120mm rear exhaust fan, 1 120mm intake fan on bottom of case, 1 120mm intake fan on front of case, 1 120mm fan on side of case. this is my case and i have maxed out the fan slots. ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133200 ). when i run my old card in the same case the temp is only 2 or 3 degree lower than with the new card.

now after the first time i used the new card i switched back to the old one and now my usb slots on the back of the mobo are messing up sometimes after a reboot i have to unplugg everything and plugg them back in to get them to work maybe this is a mobo problem?????
