So I'm getting ready to upgrade from two MSI 660ti's SLI'ed to a single Gigabyte 970.

The 660ti's I'm using currently are these right here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127697&cm_re=MSI_660ti_PE-_-14-127-697-_-Product

The 970 I'm wanting to upgrade to is this version:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125684&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

How much performance gain (if any) would I see if I swapped? Or would I be better off getting a single 980? I might go two way 970 if it's more cost efficient. I don't might spending a good bit to get the performance I want out of this. I'm only using two 1080p monitors at the moment, and I plan to play games like FarCry 4 and ARMA 3 at the maximum possible settings (I'm a performance freak I guess). So what can the community recommend for me?

Solution
970 and a 980 are better than 660 sli, you will see a big performance difference, 970 is a great care probably the bet on the market for its price, and in gaming the 980 almost compares to the titan in benchmarks

i would say get the 970 instead of the 980, BUT both of these cards are 1440p/4k cards. get a single 970 and a 1440p monitor. i should cost the same as a sli setup, but dual 970 for a single 1080p monitor is OVERKILL. also another consideration is the cpu. what cpu do you have? because it can bottleneck the 970 if its a crap one.
Hope this helps :)

The CPU I'm running with now is an i7-4790k and 16gb of ram. I'm just wondering if I will actually see any benefit to my performance, since with ARMA 3, I can get roughly 50-60 FPS with all settings on high.
