Hi I have a Toshiba All In one windows 8 computer, which recently caught malware, after running several normal virus programs and several programs to detect viruses in mbr like combofix and others(some which wouldn't have a off button and kept popping back up after I turned them off)
my computer boot time is now 20 seconds from 8 seconds, I have reformatted, scanned the mbr again with Sophos this time , checked for disk errors, scanned with my only virus software I use now Norton, reset my cmos settings, flashed my bios after first thoroughly scanning my computer for rootkits, I was going to use killcmos on hiren boot disk but was sceptical so didn't.

Internet is slow too, downloads are fast but browsing is slow, which I Think is due to Norton Add-On, sometimes after watching a video and going away computer goes into sleep, when I wake it and resume the video the video hangs for a sec while the sounds keeps going then it returns to normal, it was playing up much worse before I updated my video card driver and codecs.

Do you know I can do to make the All In One faster like it used to be, it has 8gb ram and 1tb harddrive.

The only thing worse than viruses and malware = anti-virus and anti-malware programs. Here's what I would do if I were you:

Reinstall Windows. Uninstall any extra Norton / Sophos / whatever else that comes with your system. Run all your Windows updates - including the update to Windows 8.1. You'll have Windows Defender built-in, and won't need to download another anti-virus program.
