1st PC build for noob. ARMA 3 on High or Ultra @ 60 fps?

Solution
You are spending more than necessary in a few places, like ram and PSU. Gskill sniper and an Evga G2 850w would be my picks. Case is more expensive than I would pay, but that is more of a personal choice. A 4790k really isn't necessary for gaming. An i5 4690k is sufficient. Ditch the GTX 770 for a GTX 970. What is your actual budget? The gpu you chose, no longer is showing a price.

That should do just fine, although water cooling is a bitch and can be very very costly. I recommend a Cool Master Hyper 212 EVO (it keeps my AMD FX 9590 [220W] O/C to 6GHz at around 46 degrees C)

Thanks you guys for the quick responses! My budgets not really concrete so it can adjust a little but I would like to keep it as low as possible. Are you sure that the 4790k is unnecessary? Because I heard Arma 3 is really hard on the CPU

Ok thanks that cleared up a lot of things but leads me to another question, would it still be wise to invest some extra money into an i7 in order for future-proofing?

You're going to see a difference in fps whether you're on mulitplayer or singleplayer. While playing wasteland on an 80 person server I get an average of 55 fps on high in 1080p with this build.

CPU- i7 4790k
GPU- zotac gtz 980
MB- Asus 97a
RAM- 8 gb G.SKill Sniper
PSU- 730w from I don't remember who
Also an h100i

if you got the money go for the i7-4790k because arma 3 really gains from it being THE BEST SINGLE CORE PERFORMANCE CPU on the market

also be careful to get a motherboard for overclock that means be careful for it to have more capacitors, higher grad chokes, more power phases, etc because in the future you would want to overclock you will not have to change motherboard
