Hi i want to upgrade my pc's GPU but i dont know if i should go with the gtx 770 which has lower temps lower power usage and higher fps but th R9 has mantle and true audio. And i just want to know your thoughts if i should get the 770 or if you think mantle will be implemented in new games and give a fps boost better than the 770? Or is amd going to launch a new line up of graphic cards? I would be thankful for any thoughts and ideas

Definitely the 290. If you can afford it though I'd certainly sggest getting the 970 over ALL. Even if you can't afford it, I'd stronlgy recommend saving up to get it. The temps are way cooler than both the 290 and 770, the performance also beats both and it consu,es less power. It's a spectacular card and is priced right imo.
Here is a comparison between the two cards: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1068?vs=1037
As you can see the 290 is far better than the 770, but it's up to you what you decide. Oh and btw the 960 is being released on Jan 22 for around $200. Along with the base 960, there are two Ti versions being released as well. The second (most powerful, most expensive) Ti version is gonna be sligthly less powerful than...

I think the big difference between the two is VRAM. Modern games are starting to require 4GB of vram to run at ultra settings, so for me, the 290 is the best option. It does pump out a lot of heat though, and is difficult to cool. Processing power is similar between the two of them, and imo mantle is overhyped - in most mantle titles, the performance gap between dx11 and mantle has been small.

The second (most powerful, most expensive) Ti version is gonna be sligthly less powerful than the 290, but will be lower temps of course (prob around 65 on load) and will probably consume much less power. Also, at that time, the 970 price may be lowered, who knows, I'd suggest you wait a little, waiting won't hurt, just don't wait too forever or you'll never get anything :)

did u mean the GTX970? if yes go with the GTX970 it has better FPS in 1080P/1440P and u can also Overclock it well

if u meant the GTX770 No go with the R9 290 it is alot better than the 770 in every way except for power consumption

if u go with the R9 290 i recommend the Tri-x

if ur going for the GTX970 go with the G1 gaming/Windforce or msi TwinFrozer

also if u were to wait just go with AMD R9 3XX instead the R9 290 is 1 year old

well the R9 290 can be found for around 260USD it has 4gb of Vram which is better than the 770 can offer

how ever if u can stretch the Budget for the newer card ill definitely go for GTX970 if u can wait until we hear about AMD R9 300 that would be even better

yeah Strix is among the best, but here's how I rate them:
1. Gigabyte G1, it's the most powerful card, but it's a bit longer and last time I checked it costed the most, also design is plain but it has a backplate
2. MSI Gaming, very quiet, looks sexy, runs cool, all around good
3. Strix (I can't remember why but I know this is 3rd best
