I need help to overclock my CPU

I know the basic of overclocking like how to set volt core and multiplier. But my question is, what are the other features that I should disable? the features that I only know and need to disable are Intel speed step technology and intel turbo boost. Is there anything else? and do I have to change something on my motherboard like jumpers or whatnot?

My specs:
intel core i7 4790k
Asus sabertooth z97 mark 1

You actually dont need to disable speedstep or turbo. I leave everything on auto and change the multi til it crashes then back off one. Running smooth as glass that way for three years.

If you are trying to squeeze out another couple hundrend mhz someone should be along with a link to a guide.
