Hi, I have the following problem:

I'm running a GTX 660 and FX6300 build with 8GB RAM and Windows 7. I have installed all the most recent graphic card and motherboard drivers correctly. My GPU is set as primary graphic adaptor in system.

When I turn on the PC and log into my account, the Desktop comes up with a grey taskbar (not the trasparent one). I then also have trouble with DirectX and games being slow as well as audio being stuttery or not playing at all. Relaunching aero process wont fix the problem.

As soon as I select to reboot my PC and log back in, everything is absolutely fine, GPU works flawlessly, games and audio as well. Taskbar is now transparent.

I would like to have my PC being like that in the first place always when I start it, not needing to do the reboot. I'm just at my wits end regarding where the problem is.

Could you give me any advice? Thanks in advance.

Solution
Change the desktop to a standard theme rather than one of the aero presets mate is my advice.

Failing that when this occurs - open task manager - find explorer.exe in processes - right click & close down
Click run tab , type explorer.exe
If this solves it then the problem is with windows rather than hardware/bios related.
