First post here.. HI! I added 4GB to my already 2GB Lanparty DK790fx a while ago, and about a month ago the computer crashed, the culprit being a faulty ram stick, so today I recieved a new processor in the mail because my old one fried, after replacing it I got the computer to start on 1 GB of ram, when I found my other 1 GB stick and added that one, the computer won't start anymore, can't access bios, clearing CMOS didn't work. The RAM is 1GB PC2-3200 DDR2-400 128mx64 240 Pin

Are you saying you had to change the CPU along with the ram from the previous faulty stick? You had 6GB ram running correctly at one point as well? Same motherboard? Maybe try moving the sticks around to the other slots. What happened to your computer that "fried" the processor? If it was some kind of electrical problem, maybe the motherboard itself was damaged including the slot that your trying to install the 2nd stick of ram into.

I changed the CPU because it lost GHz for whatever reason and eventually stopped working, there was no tech issue, and after moving around a few wires I got the PC to start but now it's hit and miss, sometimes it just hangs at a spot where I can get into the bios and sometimes it'll start and then Blue screena fter about 30 minutes

I did overclock it, and yes it was my fault it lost GHz, Refreshing to stock (No OC) didn't fix it. I can get it to boot sometimes, I'm starting to think it's an issue with my OS, could that be it?

A reinstall would hurt. An unstable OC could corrupt data under certain circumstances. Seen this awhile back myself OCing. Windows deactivated itself according to dialog box. Rebooted, lowered OC a bit. Rebooted and all was fine like the warning never happened. Any luck with test sticks individually?

It's very rough, Very choppy and ew. At least it's not 1 GB. (Found my other stick lmao) otherwise we'd be in real trouble. I don't have the money to replace my DDR2 RAM right now, so I'm gonna have 2 GB for a while. Seeing if I have any generous friends who can donate me a few sticks
