My laptop is an msi gs70 stealth and for about 6 months the wireless adapter was working fine; I had high speed, reliable internet connectivity.

However within the last 3 weeks or so my wireless adapter randomly stops detecting networks. What happens is the 5 or 6 other nearby networks my computer usually picks up disappear, leaving only the one i am currently connected to. A small yellow exclamation point appears over the network with the text, "this connection is limited".

I can be gaming or doing homework online one minute and the next, have no internet. Rebooting seems to consistently fix this problem, but only temporarily. I again lose connection within anywhere from 1 minute to 3 hours. Also moving my computer to another room in the house or connecting to a different network causes this problem to occur instantly.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and give me advice on how to fix this problem?

This is either due to overheating, or failure. If it is only the laptop, it is your wifi adapter. If it is other devices as well, it is the router.

Try taking the notebook to another location and seeing if the error reproduces with a different router.

I get the same problem on other routers as well, so I know it is my wifi adapter. Is there anything I can do to fix my adapter? w

I have the same laptop and am having the same issue. My solution is to go into device manager, disable the card and then re-enable it, seems to do the trick... Will uninstall and reinstall, see how it handles it!
