Hello ive bought a Gigabyte AMD GA-970A-DS3P and i have read all the reviews and most are bad but most have recommended the 3rd revision and thats what i bought. is this a good motherboard and is it reliable. knowing this has a 3 year warranty and the gigabyte name im expecting a good piece of hardware.

Thanks

it is ok. if you want gigabyte i would recommend the board that i have. the 990fx chipset will allow for better overclocking experience and it is overall a better board, but it does cost more Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

What did those bad reviews say was bad about it? In general negative product reviews can be over-represented because someone who has a problem is more motivated to complain than a happy customer is to write a review, but an overwhelming number of bad reviews is a red flag.

I am going to have to deter you from using that one , not that is bad. AM3+ is not getting any new architecture FX series or "Vishera" SKUs are it. So if your going FX 6300 or 8320 which are the best valued impo. But more so when overclocking. Like i7baby said the 990FX Chipset motherboard would be better. Also I agree with getting the GA-990FXA-UD3.
I only say this because i really think that the FX 6300 once overclocked has the best value for really any CPU out.
