So I have a micro atx motherboard as of now, and I'm planning to get a standard atx motherboard from my friend. Unfortunately, he cant include the motherboard standoffs. I have i think 6 motherboard standoffs I need for my matx motherboard. Will 6 be enough for an atx motherboard? If not, can I just screw in 6 and leave the rest empty? PLEASE HELP!!

Current motherboard:
ASUS P8B75M LX PLUS

The motherboard I'm going to get:
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3

Please answer as soon as you can...

6 is fine. you don't NEED to fill every hole. just try to support the 4 corners and the middle and possibly another one around the GPU if you use a big GPU in your system.

I would want all 9. If you go with four corner sand the middle your board basically has a 9.6"x12" area on all four sides to flex if you try to seat anything like ram, cpu cooler, 24 pin connector, 8 pin etc.... Sometimes you need to use enough force that traces could break without support.
