first build for gaming/music production.

Yea I agree with TheAsianNinja. Go with the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 it's very reliable and offers better performance. There is a compatibility issue at the bottom saying that the Galax is too long to fit in the NZXT case and the EVGA GPU would fit. The PSU is extremely overkill. Get an EVGA 750W G2 80+ Gold. You really don't need 80+ platinum. You only have a 250GB SSD. That probably won't be enough for what you want to do. I would add a 1TB hard drive (Seagate or Western Digital are good companies). The Kraken X60 doesn't seem to be available on any site :( but maybe you can just wait for it to be restocked. If you don't have the patience go with a Corsair H100i. The rest is pretty good. Do you have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers?

I wouldn't trust that graphics card assembler. Use one assembled by MSI or EVGA or Asus or some reliable brand.

thanks for the advice.

ive been looking into this instead...http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn970g1gaming4gd
but id want to spray the cover with plasti dip in white.
Ill see what nzxt cooler there are available as i want to keep the branding the same for some reason, also why i want the HoF gpu.

still researching monitors etc. but i can get them from work for the time being. Ive got a pair of Alesis m1 Active Monitor speakers so dont need to worry about that.

With the Gigabyte GPU there is still the same compatibility problem because it is over 294 mm with all the drive bays. I'm not exactly sure how modular the case is so look into how many of the bays you can take out. If you can make enough space then go for Gigabyte. Remember since its windforce it will make more noise if you care. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/cpu-cooler/#m=94&sort=a5 are all the NZXT coolers. If you do need a monitor I would recommend the Acer H236HLbid 23.0". What about mouse and Keyboard?

That is a very good monitor if you are willing to spend that much on it. I really don't know enough about the NZXT case so yea look into it. There are keyboard and mouse bundles out there that are very cheap. the CM Storm Devastator is a good one but it's black not white.

In the build i did not see any sound card. For music production a sound card is almost nessary for business level and industry level sound production as even though the intergrated sound chips are extremely close to how a sound card is the advatage of a sound card is you can plug in more and differnet kinds of plugs depending on the kind of sound card you are useing. This is needed for a external mixer and external equalizer board to work with a PC. For gaming a sound card is really a unneeded expense but for music production it is needed for the connectors it has ... just make sure you get the one with the correct connectors for your machines is all.

ok just brining attention to that one point that i thought was a very big issue in the build is all but other than that the motherboard is kinda overpriced for what you will be doing with it so either go totally overboard and get a WS board of Asus Z97-WS ATX LGA1150 Motherboard or get something much more reasonably priced like the Asus Z97-A both will meet your propuses and have the expandabilty you will need in the future just the WS board will be able to take a few more and differnet kinds of cards than the Z97-A board will is all both a Z97 and thus overclockable for your gaming and both are fairly stable with the WS board being probably a little more so but not worth the extra £200 or so in my mind.

For a gaming / work machine you should not have a windowed case and get higher preformance parts then if aestetics mean that much to you. Have a rocking case design and dont worry so much about miss matching colors as long as they are high preformance parts and the case looks cool the insides shouldnt matter that much ... color wise i mean.
