First build ($600-$650 budget)

I would recommend bumping the CPU up to an i5 4460. You will find yourself replacing that dual core processor soon since games may start demanding 4 cores, you'll end up just wasting your money ultimately. The 280 is a powerful card and you made a great choice on the PSU :) There's nothing else I can say, awesome builds!

+1, if you got the cash definetely worth it investing in i5, while G3258 and i3-4150 cant really keep up in gaming for too long..

thanks random, and yeah even if u don't have the cash I recommend saving up and getting an i5. A lot of these "budget builds" end up costing more than you think due to how many replacements have to be made in such a short time. It's always the better option to save up your money for something better, whether it's a computer, a TV, a chair, etc.

not that many games support hyper threading. i3 is like some kid stuck between reality and imaginary world, imagining he's way tougher than he really is,he ain't wanna play with other kids from pentium and celeron families, because he feels he's of a higher birth than them, his silicon is of sand more pure than them,he treats his fellow friends with contempt and dreams to grow up someday and enter the big boys (adults) i5s and i7s world,he ain't wanna be kid anymore, however dreams remain just dreams if he's doing nothing to achieve em, thats why those 2 extra cores are just virtual cores, they're not existent, they're a mere illusion,a dream of little dual core..

i5-4460/ i5-4590/ i5-4690k depends on choice really. i5-4460 or i5-4440 if you intend to save some $, i5-4590 if you want superior to i5-4460 performance but not interested in OCing, i5-4690k if you're interested in OCing.

Would overclocking it make it that much better in terms of performance that it would be worth the $30?
Also, Do you think it would be able to run Far Cry 4 at decent settings with the i5?

The CPU overclocked will definitely not give you $30 of performance. And it depends on the graphics card that you have in the computer with those settings.
