Something very weird is happening with this old system i have. It an old, probably around 7-8 year old pc, still alive and kicking. The problem Im having with it is the fact that it's CPU fan spins up to what sounds like maximum RPM for a second or two, and turns off. After a few moments, it spins back up to an idle speed, and remains constant for 2 minutes. No display is output, and no peripherals (keyboard, mouse, network adapter, etc.) seem to power up either. This happens every night, and while I only have one time logged at the moment (3:00 am on the dot) it seems to happen around that time, everytime. Any idea on what this might be? Only specs I can provide at the moment is that the system is amd powered (CPU) and is running vista (sisters computer, refuses to install anything else no matter what I tell her) not much to go on, but any help would be appreciated!
