Hi!
I bought R9 280x graphics card and silverstone 500w powersupply, but graphics card is not working. No display and no usb. Package says it needs 500w powersupply and i got it. All fans are spinning too. I have 6-pin and 8-pin PCI-E connectors and they are pushed all way in, but when i took 6-pin connector out, no display but usb is working. BIOS is cleared and updated.

I hope you guys can help me! :)

First try to boot off your systems onboard graphics, to do this uninstall your GPU, and then connect your monitor to the output on the IO panel of the motherboard.

Also, as it would seem you need more power... the power supply you got was not powerful enough to power your entire system, according to Newegg's power calculator you need about a 900watt power supply.

If you have onboard graphics try to boot using that, to do this uninstall your graphics card and plug you monitor into the output on the IO panel on the back. If the system boots either your graphics card is faulty or there are other things at play.

to confirm you are just installing a new graphics card, correct? you change nothing else in the system other than the power-supply.

if possible upload a picture of the inside of your computer, it will help rule out any simple mistakes.

i bought vtx3d r9 280x last month and it serves me well. a really good choice for my budget. the temps are fine too so i can say the fans are performing well too under load. (70c). trust me you need a better PSU for that because that too is my problem before. i upgraded my 600w PSU to 750w and bam! its working :)

Did you remember to go into BIOS and change the default display to say it's your PCI Express slot? If you were using integrated.. it might be still set to that. Also, someone suggested that you should NOT use a splitter when plugging in a 6-pin and an 8-pin power cable... that you should have separate lines coming directly from the PSU.
