What I'm using is a HP Pavilion PC, not sure what model.
I haven't used this pc for a long time now because it won't start the last time I used it so I set it aside, after a couple of months I decided to fix it up, it worked but the problem is, It won't start unless I take off the CMOS battery and insert it and plug the power, literally every time when I turn on this cp I always have to to do the said things above. So what can you say is wrong about my computer ? Help. Thanks.

Solution
unplug everything and clean the battery socket with the tip of a flat screwdriver. Make sure you "scratch" the metal holding the battery.
After that you should buy a new cmos battery as the old one probably is dead/dying

Hello,

I have a similar issue right now, and all symptons relate to the board. Can you clear the CMOS with the jumper or CLR_CMOS button? If so it will turn on. It could be a very loose connection with the CMOS connecting to the board.

I would RMA the laptop for a replacement ASAP. If you have replaced the CMOS battery already do not waste anymore time with it.

Good luck.
