I pay too much for faster than normal internet, 7-8 ping 50mb/s downloads.http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4030067850 but ingame it sometimes feels like im on satellite.
watching videos in 1080p on chrome or firefox , nearly load instantly. when im in game my ping either stays at 90+ or is usually at 60 but i get awful/regular lag spikes and have absolutely no control over whats going on. ive tried multiple fixes that many friends have suggested. they either solve my problem only very temporarily or make no change at all.
This is a brand new pc i built almost two months ago. i didnt have any issues at first but they have quickly gotten worse and worse.
Windows 7 64 bit, Home Edition.
Pentium G3258 3.2, overclocked to 4.2 and stable at 53 degrees stressed (stock cooler)
MSI H81M P33, Geforce GTX 660, stock.
Crucial BLT 12 GB Ram.
Samsung Evo 250 GB SSD.
I have a Rosewill wireless adapter as well, but i was only trying it, hoping my issue was just something with the onboard LAN. but its the same either way.
I did manage to find one program that completely solved my problem in one game but now it seems worse in another. I know its not my router since i had a friend play on his computer on the same router, same game, same game server. he had far less issues than I. but i think that game's servers are notorious for having problems.
I dont know where to begin looking for something. and i dont even know what i would be looking for. Thank you for any information.
