I switch back and forth between my headset and my tv/surround sound. The headset is "Speakers" " Realtek high definition audio" and my tv/surround is "The name of my tv and nvidia high definition audio"
When I would switch the default device this in windows 7 the sound would work as soon as I switched, but since I got windows 8.1,the only way the sound will work on the newly selected device,id if I reload the source, like youtube, netflix or twitch.
How can I get it to work like it did in windows 7 ? I want the selected device to work as soon as I set it to default.

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you're saying, but I may have worded my question wrong. When I would change the default device on windows 7, the audio would play immediately.
On windows 8.1,the audio will not play through the newly selected device until I refresh the source. So if its you tube or netflix, I have to reload the page to get the sound to work.
