Intel Core2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.5GHz Bottlenecking

Hello all.

I've always had this strange model of processor in my PC (it originally came prebuilt but I've changed basically everything since then) called the Q8300. Everywhere I look I can see Q8200s and Q8400s but never my specific one, so I'm calling on you guys to help me find information about it.

I've recently bought and installed a Radeon R7 260X 1GB OC which runs okay, but I feel like something is holding it back. Games like World of Tanks and War Thunder will run at only 30fps on minimum or low settings, whereas I've read reviews of it running much more graphically intensive (and worse optimised) games at higher graphics settings.

I was wondering if it was my processor that was holding back the power of the video card. I know basically nothing about the processor, other than what it is called and what speed it runs at.

Hoping that you people can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

So i researched some inf. And i saw it shouldn't be problem. But Your GPU is a little bit more powerful than your CPU. But I guess. Your system it's not bottlenecking. :)
But if you get any lags. I recommend you upgrade your CPU

Thanks very much. One more thing. What processor do you recommend that I upgrade to if mine dies? I will be building a new computer within the next year or so, so it isn't that important, but a general pointer would be really helpful.

Thank you!

If your Proccessor dies you can use the AMD FX-6300 Six-Core it's like 100$ and it's very powerful. it will handle your GPU without problems :). It's so cheap for it's performance. Or The Intel Core i3-4130 3.40Ghz Very powerful 2 core Proccessor!
