Hi , i have Nvidia Geforce 840m and my problem is that my core clock is low ,even during gaming.
I'm using Msi Afterburner to monitor my gpu and I had around 1000Mhz in past but now i only got 405Mhz in idle(sometimes 135mhz) and 540mhz ingame. I tried reinstalling drivers ,nothing changed. In driver i set the battery managment to max performence .It looks like the 540mhz is the maximum but maximum is 1029(1132 OC) and i had this core clock at approximately a week ago.

I had a similar problem with my MSI GTX 960 100ME. I overclocked it to 1516MHz then put it back to stock, and it only showed 539 or 540MHz. Even playing Battlefield 4 on ultra! Even when I opened up the MSI gaming app and switched between silent, gaming, and OC modes it still showed 540MHz. I restarted my computer and it was back to normal, though! Hope it helps. **WHEN IN DOUBT, RESTART**

I don't know how. But I really don't want to play with core clock setting because I'm not really into it. I only want that it would work as it should .When not in use - low clock ,when ingame - max clock . For example I played NFS MW2012 at ~30fps and monitoring app says that clock is 1132 but now I got only 4-7 fps and it says that clock is 540mhz. And that's not normal.

Hmm my GPU is a bit better than yours about 40%. I also play NFS MW2012 At the moment. I play at lowest settings with a steady 60fps. So your computer should easily be capable of running this game. Maybe you have set a profile in MSI Afterburner which uses lower clock speeds. Try pressing the ''reset'' button. In ASUS GPU Tweak (which im using) The same button says Default. So i think the reset button will reset your GPU Profile to normal. So it will use normal clock speeds in game.

Otherwise use the slider to manually increase the clockspeed to 1132MHz.

Hi guys , it look like it a huge problem , I reinstalled drivers ,didn't help , I reinstalled windows , no change , I updated BIOS , didn't help me too . After a time with trying to find solution with changing many settings , I found out that in performance settings in nVidia driver ,i can change the core clock and memory clock , i tried it and i looked to the afterburner , and Memory clocks has changed to my wanted value and core clock too but core clock after a few seconds Core clock get back to 135Mhz , but memory clock still at my value ,( I had minimized running game so graphics card wasn't in idle ) So it looks like something is locking my core clock, but the memory clock not . Its strange . :(
