Hello everyone! I currently have had a pc for about 2 years now... and only upgraded the video cards...And now im thinking to get a new MOBO,CPU,MEMORY. This is what i have currently.

1 x Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.3GHz (3.7GHz
1 x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
1 x ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
1 x CORSAIR HX Series HX1050 1050W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC
2 x 780 GTX SLI (One of which is super clocked acx coolers and the other is classified also with acx coolers)

I also have a 30 inch monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 which i play all my games on.
The reason why im thinking about upgrading is due to the fact that on some new games such as far cry...even though its decent enough when playing everything on ULTRA when a lot of things are going on, on the screen at the same time it jitters here and there and i hate it! Also a friend of mine recently built a new PC. He has the I5 4670 with a 980 GTX. When we ran tests on 3D MARK he blew me away by like 1500 POINTS! I was around 4000 points he was about 5500 points... On top of that he has a 4K monitor.

I have decided on a Mother board as well as processor which will be the

1 X Asus Maximus Hero VII
1 X I5- 4790K processor

I cant for the life of me figure out which memory to get. Ive been reading and cant come to a conclusion. HELP ME! I was looking at the GSKILL Trident X 2400 or the Corsair Vengeance pro 2400 Both 16 gigs.... Maybe you guys can suggest something else!

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I wouldn't bother with the upgrade, just OC the 2500K a little 4.3-4.4, there's not been much improvement between the 2500K and the 4790K, althoiugh stock clock is higher, but the OC will fix that. The one thing you can't get is access to PCI-E3.0 which shouldn't make any difference until you get beyond 980's.

I mean I hear what your saying, my 2500k is already overclocked to 4.4... And it's just not as smooth as my buddies... And if the upgrade is not worth it, any info on when the next I5's are coming out? Or what would be a worth it upgrade? And if I do decide to upgrade which memory. Don't get me wrong I love my current rig, and I've been using it for like 2 1/2 years now and it still kicks ass. I just hate when I have to lower settings to get smooth performance.
