Hi, i was planning for a system upgrade. My current config is

Intel core 2 quad q9550@2.83ghz
Evga nvidia nforce 780i sli mobo
Kingston 2x2gb ddr2
Palit Geforce GTX 275
Tagan 700W PSU
Glacialtech igloo 5750 silent cpu air cooler
Cooler master cm690 II (basic) case

I've already bought a Zotac Geforce GTX 970 amp extreme editon and a core i7 4790k.
I wanted a compatible motherboard for it.
I am giving a few option i know.

1) MSI z97-gd65
2) MSI z97 gaming 3/5/7
3)gigabyte ga-z97x gaming 3/5
4) Asus maximus vii ranger
5)gigabyte z97x soc

There were too many boards of gigabyte. I am confused. I want a good motherboard.

Also i wanted a cpu cooler for my core i7-4790k. I don't think I'll overclock. But maybe in near future I'll try. Should i go for a liquid cooling option or air cooling. Liquid cooling is better but less reliable and they leak too. I don't want to damage my components at any cost.

I am not planning to change the case(cm 690 ii).

I know some corsair liquid coolers like h60 and h75 and i dont think a 240mm radiator will fit in my case(cm 690 ii).

Please help.
Thank you.

Get MSI Gaming 5 or Gigabyte Gaming 5 or The Asrock Extreme 6 if that is available in your region.
As for the cooler Hyper 212 is the baseline. AIO sealed Liquid coolers are much more louder and they start acting up or die after 2 or 3 years of use. So you should get a aircooler. I would recommend a be quiet! Dark Rock 3.

the msi gaming 5 is a solid board with lots of oc potential. pair it with a cooler master hyper 212 evo air cooler and you will be good to go for a decent oc and easily.

the asus z97-a is also a solid board at a good price. pait with the 212 evo and it will also do you very nicely
