Hi!

It's been a long time since I last build a fresh high end pc - 11 years to be exact, so I'm a little confused about a few things. RAM configuration used to be a big thing back then, but now it seems it doesn't matter as much. Still I want to set it up properly to maximize performance.

I'm unsure about the BIOS settings of my RAM modules and which settings work best for a gaming rig.

Setup:
MSI 97 Gaming 5
Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8 GB 2400 Mhz CL11 (DIMM2 & DIMM4)

Here's a link to an image of my current BIOS RAM config: http://i.imgur.com/NnW590O.png

Especially the "Memory Try It !" confuses me. I can choose between "Performance" and "Compatibility" and I literally have no idea what's better, even after reading the entire manual.

Any comment about basically anything concerning RAM configuration is much appreciated!

'Memory Try it!' is an MSI feature where you just enter a speed and CAS latency and your motherboard will optimise the rest of your memory settings for you. I'm not sure of the differences between performance and compatibility though :( You also have XMP enabled which is probably the best setting anyway.
