Hi,

Spec:
Z87-A Motherboard
4690K processor
8gb Corsair Vengence pro RAM

I am trying to boot for the first time and can't get to the bios. The red CPU light is stable but on. I have tried connecting through 2 different cables, 2 monitors and only 1 RAM stick. I am starting to struggle.

Any ideas other than simply sending the board back?

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. It says the board is compatible on the asus website. I am unsure of how to update the bios or even check if the bios is out of date if I can't get it to boot.
The Z87-A board appears to also not have the flashback ability some of the other boards have.

I don't run asus but it seemed there is a way with then to do so ??? how safe it is cant say -- don't feel bad lota of guys run into this even the new z97 boards can need a bios up date for the [k] chips to work

but with our z87 boards the chip you got will require a refresh bios up date cause the refresh chips were not out or supported back then for them

be sure you download the detailed instructions at the bottom of the page and see ??
look this over and see -- I'm not 1oo% on any of this

you may start a new thread on this to see if any asus fanboys answer you on that ???

Honestly not sure. But I have found a friend with a compatible processor so can update the bios and see if it works.

Will let you know the outcome

So I am trying to send it back to Ebuyer as I believe the board is bricked. I ended up just buying a Z97-Pro and my PC now runs :)

I sent photos back to Ebuyer and they have accused me of bending the pins. Which I have shown below with the pins in question ringed.

http://

I don't understand how I would have caused this damage when inserting the chip as surely I would have bent many more pins if I had attempted to do it incorrectly?

Do I have any options with Ebuyer or have I lost the money spent?
