Console gaming specs

Hi

Basically as i am now earning the funds to look at buying a Ps4 console i wondered why only a small margin of games are running at 60fps at 1080p on the currently most powerful home console on the market.

I've built my own pc for basic gaming like some Diablo 3, tf2 and Payday 2 but i prefer having a controller with all the controls in my hand. A keyboard just feels fiddly to me even though i pc gamed lots when i was 12-16. I used an Xbox 360 when i was 18 (now 20) as there was a bigger game library at the end of its life span which used games at like £5.

These are the only games i want to play right now:
Call of Duty: Ghosts (60fps after patch on Ps4 and my favorite game on Xbox 360 which was 60fps and smooth as butter)
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
The Last of Us Remastered
Battlefield 4 (i'm better with shooters on console)

These are all 60fps, i want to get Destiny but as its in 30fps i'd rather not.

What are your thoughts?

Buy an Xbox 360 controller for your PC. They work perfectly with Windows 7 and 8/8.1. And all of the games you mentioned are also available for PC, except The Last of Us.

If those are the only games that you are interested in then don't bother getting a console yet. Maybe upgrade your video card if you're not able to keep up with newer games, you can get a GTX760 or an R9 280 for $200. Those will take care of any modern games. Then buy a controller so you don't have to play with mouse and keyboard.

The PS4 has the power to run games at 1080p/60, I think that the XboxOne is holding developers back in that department. I don't plan on getting a console until next year when No Man's Sky releases on PS4, hopefully by that time they are...

I don't plan on getting a console until next year when No Man's Sky releases on PS4, hopefully by that time they are down to $279-$299. I would have to upgrade my entire PC setup to be able to play any game made after 2012, so for me it would be a good choice to be able to play modern games.

However, it sounds like you've already got a newer PC, so unless there's an exclusive that you just have to play now, I wouldn't bother,

My specs are as followed;
-Athlon II x4 750k Black Edition 3.40GHz
-Sapphire R9 270 2gb
-Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz 2x4GB Dual Channel 8GB kit
-500w Corsair Bronze
-1TB WCD Hard drive
-Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Motherboard
-Windows 7 Ultimate

With these specs i dont think i have a very high end pc. i need a good cpu and i new board but the just doing it is a pain. i want my pc to be at least to years old before i think of upgrading. I'd rather just get p4. I just want to turn on a system put the disc in and play, doing maintenance on a pc is a pain.
