How should I manage games with a 256gb SSD?

I have a Samsung 850 Pro and don't know I should install steam on it. I figure if I don't install steam on the ssd I will not be able to run the games at their full potential. How should I go about this?

The client is tiny. Why not put it on the SSD?
It doesn't really take up a lot of space.

But either way will work.

Why shouldn't I put the client on my Hard Drive and then some of the games on the SSD?
