I currently have a two 2gb ram sticks running in dual-channel giving me 4gb ram in total but recently was given one 4gb ram stick. I was wondering if its possible to run the two 2gb in dual-channel and the 4gb in single-channel and get performance boost, or will it worsen and only run in single-channel for all?

I have 4 DIMM slots in TH55B however I do have a new motherboard on the way and want to see if I have to get new RAM stick pairs all together.

You have an 1156 mobo which supports flex mode so if the sticks will play together, which is the big thing, then you can run all in dual channel by placing the 4GB stick in say Channel A and the 2 Two GB sticks in Channel B. With 4 GB in each channel, Flex treats all as dual channel mode
