I want to buy a new graphics card which is - Asus GeForce GTX 970 Strix DirectCU II OC HDMI DP 2xDVI 4GB. My motherboard is a Asus h87m-pro (intel lga 1150) micro-atx motherboard. My old card a Nividia GeForce 640. However the new card is in length a lot larger then my current GPU. The length of my current GPU is 5.70 inches, the new cards length is 280 mm which is close to 11 inches. Will the new card fit on this motherboard?
I also noticed my old card is DDR3 and the new one is DDR5 will this mean my motherboard is incompatible with the DDR?

Solution
The motherboard will support the card fine, however your case could be an issue.
Measure to see if the card will fit the case, the motherboard is not the issue.
