So I am attaching a photo beneath and I somehow managed to take a picture at the opportune time... I am getting these weird white flicks that happen when there is dark in the background. I have not noticed them during games whatsoever but only notice them when browsing chrome.

Sorry for the bad image quality...the white dot right next to "Messages" is what I am talking about. There are no faulty pixels on the screen IMO.

Is this just cable noise or interference from something?

I need help considering I just purchased it about a week ago!

Solution
These are pixels that are stuck in one position. Hot pixels and bright, and cold pixels are dark.

This article offers some suggestions. The software basically runs through the colors to try and get the pixel unstuck.
This is not an interference pattern, or a bad cable. It looks to me as a "Hot pixel," which is a defect in the monitor display. I would exchange it for another one. You are only noticing it on the dark screens because on the light screens it blends into the background of other white pixels.

So i tried it and they instantly go away...its like less than a second they come up at completely random times. I would honestly say at this point it unnoticeable but I am just being OCD about it.

What are hot and cold pixels?

This is wrong.

I am actually having the same problem with both of my PB278Q screens. These pixels are not stuck - they actually flicker between white and the correct color, and only when there is another intense color being drawn nearby. If you draw a perfectly black image, you don't see flickering.

I too have this issue. I am running EVGA 680 GTX X 2 ( not in SLI mode ), with each monitor in a card ( also tried from same card )
I am using DVI, the noise is worse with DisplayPort.

The only way I am able to get around it is to launch Windows, log in, then turn off each monitor, then turn them back on. Once I do this, I do not see the noise. I use Visual Studio for C++ coding, as well as Chrome, anywhere I have bright text on a darker background, these errant pixels will flicker on and off.

I love these monitors, have a feeling this is caused by my video cards. I have tried other cables but it didn't help. I spent about a week trying every option under the Sun until I discovered the turn off/on solution. I am guessing it allows the monitors to get a proper sync to my video cards.
