Can I pair an Nvidia GTX 760 and a Quadro FX 570 in the same computer?

I am currently running an EVGA Nvidia GTX 760 on an Intel Core i7 4770 and was wondering if i could install a Quadro FX 570 as well. I primarily use my PC for gaming (which the 760 handles without issue) but would like to get into using my computer for Solidworks and other CADD type programs. I have a Quadro FX 570 kicking around from an old computer. Firstly, is it possible to do this and second would I see any benefit while using Solidworks or other programs?

Yes and no. You can use 2 different cards but you will have some limitations. They must either be on different monitors, or use different inputs on a single monitor ie. you have 1 hdmi and 1 dvi, but you would physically have to switch inputs on the monitor to use either card. You will not be able to use just the one connection, that's sli and the cards are not compatible that way. Using 2 separate monitors would be a better option.

As far as benefits go, the quadro is a different beast than the 760, and is not used for gaming purposes, and it is older. It may turn out that the 760 is the better of the 2 cards performance wise for solidworks in which case you'd be better of with using just the 1 card, even with multiple monitors.
You can install both cards in the one computer, that's not the issue, the issue falls with the second video card when not used in SLI or XFire will act only as a passthrough of the video from the main card, so you will not see any benefit. You could leave the case open and swap cards when you want to switch, but that means a lot of installing and uninstalling.
