Migrate Windows 8.1 from HDD to SSD

I have a 22gb SSD and I was wondering how I could migrate my windows 8.1 OS only from my 1TB HDD to the SSD. Is there any free software I could use to do this?

8.1 will take up to 16- 20 GB of hard drive space, putting it on that ssd is unadvisable

You cannot use a 22GB SSD for the Windows OS drive. It is far too small.

2 weeks ago, my grandson and I built a new PC for him.
Win 7 Home Premium 64bit.
After the Windows updates were done, a small set of utilities (~1GB), and MS Office (~3GB) installed....47GB used space. Yes, I checked very carefully.

Given that you need to leave 10-15% free space on an SSD, that leaves 100GB or so actual usable space on a 120GB drive.
Any drive smaller...say a 64GB...would be right up against the available space, with nothing left over for anything else.
