So I bought a cx600m on ebay used from this guy that seems reputable, 1500 positive, 12 neutral and 4 negative and only one negative said that the power supply broke. So I was just using my computer when it suddenly turned off, I tried pressing the power button and it did nothing at all, then I tried shorting out the power on pins on the motherboard to try turning the computer on and it didn't start either. There is a green light on the motherboard near the bottom right so I'm not sure what exactly is broken. I have checked all of the connections and they all plugged in correctly. Edit: I am using a 2500k and r9 280x, both are not being overclocked so 600 is well enough.

it sounds like the power supply is dead. those are not the best psu's anyway plus being used, it might just be a bad egg. what type of system are you running? we can offer some quality options to power it for you.

i never buy used pc parts since you just never know what has been done to it. some many ways to mess one up and i'd prefer to be the one to do it and not buy someone else's learning opportunity.

You can try doing the paperclip trick to see if the PSU will power up: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/support/faqs/power-supplies

If it powers up, you can start looking at other possibilities. If it doesn't, unless you got some kind of warranty/guarantee from the seller, you may be out of luck. Often though, sellers who do a lot of business on eBay will work with you to avoid a bad review - you can PM him through the eBay website and see if he'll come through for you.

Thanks, I put my old psu in and miraculously, it worked and none of my parts got fried. I'll ask for a refund and this time I'll buy a store bought one.

here are some decent psu's around that wattage range.

the rosewill is more power than you need but for the price it is a great deal. :)
