Over the recent Christmas holidays, I built a new PC. Since its completion, I've been struggling with a random BSOD. Sometimes the machine will go days without crashing, and sometimes it will crash multiple times within an hour. It always the same error, PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. I can't recreate the error; it seems to come and go at random.
Other than the continuous BSOD, I'm dealing with some other issues that may or may not be related. I've noticed an annoying random lag problem with my wireless keyboard and mouse. Both while gaming and during regular Windows tasks, the mouse cursor will periodically freeze. The keyboard also freezes: in games, you'll lose any keyboard input for 5-10 seconds, like the keyboard has been disconnected, then it will come back and work fine. When typing in regular programs, the cursor will sometimes freeze for 5-10 seconds, and if you don't notice and keep typing, at the end of the 10 seconds, all of the text appears in a rapid flurry, like the computer is struggling to catch up. I've replaced the batteries in both devices, and have reinstalled the driver from Logitech, both to no avail.
Finally, I've noticed that after a BSOD and the resulting restart, when Windows comes back up, my USB wireless network adapter is not working. I can always physically pull it out of the USB port and insert it right back in, and things start working again.
Things I've tried:
Ran memtest -- nothing noticeable, error-wise
Ran a hard drive check -- came back clean
Used Driver Reviver to check for old drivers -- found 11 outdated drivers, which come back as being up to date when I try to update them using the Windows utility
Verified that all Windows updates are installed
I'm not sure where to go from here, but this problem is driving me crazy. I have a zip file containing the crash info, but I'm not sure how to post it. Any help, suggestions, or advice is appreciated!
