Ok, going to go ahead and apologize for my lack of knowledge here.

Whenever I go to boot my PC i get the following screens
1. boot screen, press "del" to enter set-up etc.
2. Detecting drives; Done; No Drives Found
3. Detecting drives; Done; No Drives Found (again)
4. Verifying DMI pool data
5. Boots to windows 7

I was wondering if there is any way to get rid of the Detecting drives screen.

I have a seagate hybrid SSD/HDD, taking away the detecting drives screen my boot time would be around 10 seconds, maybe less (Haven't actually timed it)

I googled and found a suggestion of disabling a sata controller(I think?)

When I go into my BIOS under this path, I get these options:

BIOS-> Integrated Peripherals -> Onboard PATA/SATA Device

-SATA mode [AHCI]

-Jmb362 SATA Controller [Auto]
-Jmb363 SATA/PATA Controller [Auto]
-Jmb363 [IDE Mode]
-Jmb362 [IDE Mode]

My motherboard is
EVGA - 132-BL-E758
(According to CPU-Z, my brother built this computer several years ago, then sold it to me so he could build himself a new, even more overpowered computer; it's getting kinda old, but still runs everything flawlessly)

In case anyone is interested in the computer stats.

Processor; Intel i7 920 @ 2.67 Ghz(8 CPUs)
RAM 12 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 5800 Series
Video RAM 4 GB

If I need to provide any other info just let me know, or if these screens are required for some reason or another.

I do not believe that you can completely bypass that bios screen. One suggestion is to optimize the boot order so your main SSD is the first one to boot. The other is to disable the floppy disk assuming you do not have one. Just need to remember to alter the boot sequence back when you are having an issue and need to boot from a CD or USB.

So setting the first two options to disabled has gotten rid of the screens.

From what I could google it's apparently some kind of expansion, that gives you more SATA ports.
Makes sense, considering my brother was running 2 dvd drives, a floppy disk drive, and 3 hard drives.

But for me, I don't need the extra ports.

As far as I can tell there are no issues with disabling the two things, but will post back if it causes problems.
