Hi guys,

Please HELP ME!

3-4 days ago I bought a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 780 I installed it and everything seemed to work properly.
But now when I play games (AC:unity, Splinter Cell: Black list, COD: Advanced warfare), after a few minutes of playing, the game crash and first my usb devices shut down and then the computer restart (or I have to do a reset).
in event viewer I can see this critical error: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." ? (Kernel-Power) event ID: 41
So, I believe there should be smth wrong with my PSU.
This is my PSU specifications:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/c4wi8bicniyk12f/2014-12-31%2013.53.36.jpg?dl=0

and these is my GC requirements:
"min 600W (with min 12V current rating of 42A)

I don't know about the PSUs at all.
Can anybody plz tell me that should I change the PSU or is there any problem with installing the card itself (power cables or ...)

and this is my system:

i7 870 @ 2.93 GHz
RAM 14 GB DDR3
Windows 8.1 - x64
HDD 2 TB + SSD 256

Thanks in advance.

It also depends on the other components. To my knowledge under a high amount of stress this would not be enough power. When the computer shut down, was it instant black out or was it a procedural shutdown?

Also, I bet those first-gen I7 CPUs use a lot more power than the current ones.

Thanks for the answer.
When the PC shut down, it is procedural. I mean first I see freezing and graphical changes and then it just freezes (sometimes with black screen).
is it possible that there are some IRQ conflicts?

What areyour temperatures?

-----------------------
GPU temp. in the games goes up to 70.
don't know about other temperatures.

Thanks.
If I know that the problem is %100 caused by the PSU, I'll buy a new one.
Could u plz tell what is the good one for this system to buy. (obviously due to my tight budget the cheapest one)

Yesterday spend 250$ and bought a "CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W" and still has the problem :fou:

Man when we said high quality we didn't mean $250! Although that thing will surely be a treasure to keep if it's quality justifies its price. Do you run any software on the computer that would cause it to shutdown when a graphics card reaches a certain temperature (like a monitoring program)?

But once you told me a procedural shutdown I knew it was not the power supply causing the issue.

thanks for the reply.

:( no nothing. I even re-installed Windows. same.

Try using the onboard Intel graphics and check if the issue persists. This means plugging your HDMI or DVI into the motherboard rather than the graphics card.

Tried that also. no problem with the on-board GC. I also have another GeForce GTS 450 which works smoothly.
(even tried the newer games such as "Assassin's creed unity" with my old Video Card. the FPS is very low but never crashes or freeze.)

That makes me believe that the problem must be the 780, it seems to be the most valid explanation, especially since it happens while gaming, when GPU usage peaks higher. I know you would hate to buy something new but if you are sure there is a problem with the 780 the 970 is a great alternative with better performance and less power usage.

I think there should be software problem or hardware conflict.
I forgot to tell that recently after each freezing when I restart the windows I get this msg:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/g23z9as9u4gpap6/2015-01-05%2017.30.38.jpg?dl=0

and then my usb wireless adapter stops working and I have to replug it to get the internet again.

do you think it's kind of IRQ or ... conflict?
