Now im not one to come to toms over phone issues. Normally a hard reset fixes it. However, my phone froze and slowly went to black. The phone itself still works, as I can feel it vibrate when I get a text and such, but for some reason, no display shows up at all. The screen itself is black, but lit up, meaning that the lcd (i think its lcd) shows black pixels, so it can put out some light. No graphics show up. Not even the apple logo when I turn it on and off. Is there a way to fix this? maybe if I undo the back and mess with the graphics portion of the phone?

Thanks
P.S. My phone is not under warranty so I can do whatever to it.

What do you mean it "slowly went to black"?
Can you describe that a bit better please?

But if the phone is still operating; Siri makes noise, vibrates/sounds when connected to charger, etc then the LCD is most likely just damaged.
You can TURN OFF THE PHONE, then slide off the rear glass and disconnect and reconnect the LCD/digitizer cables. If that doesn't work, you will have to replace the digital assembly (LCD/Digitizer).

A replacement digital assembly costs about $20-30 for an Iphone 4s. The repair itself takes about 15-20 minutes or up to an hour if you take your time.
