Hard drive not showing up during windows 7 installation?

Ive been trying to install windows 7 for a couple days now and i cant seem to find out why the hard drive isnt showing up during the installing process. Ive looked everywhere fought with foreign tech support guys wanting me to spend $200 + on help they cant provide. I just need help.

It was connected through SATA port 1 but it wasnt showing up. Should i plug hdd into another sata port to see if that'll work? or what im kinda lost here not a computer person in regards to building them and installing anything other than games
