I recently build new PC. Everything worked perfectly but then system froze. After restart the resolution suddenly changed to 800x600. After reinstalling Nvidia Drivers I managed to switch back to 1920x1080, but in device manager there is a yellow triangle next to my GTX 970 with message: "Windows Has Stopped This Device Because It Has Reported Problems. (Code 43) ".

I tried uninstalling driver in device manager and reinstall, reinstall whole nvidia drivers, reinstall windows even swich card to another PCI-e slot. I have monitor connected to graphics card HDMI slot, MSI logo on card normally lights up but fans do not spin and card is overheating. Card is only two weeks old.

My specs:
CPU Intel Core i7-4790K
Motherboard GIGABYTE Z97X-Gaming 3
RAM Kingston 8GB DDR3 1866MHz CL10 HyperX Fury Blue Series
GPU MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G
PSU Corsair VS650
OS Windows 8.1 Professional 64bit

what ever

what part of it don't ?? this part here ??

A device driver notified the operating system that the device failed.

This circumstance can occur if the device hardware fails or if the device driver fails.

ya- also if you got a amd card to boot on its drivers it mat windows update the NVidia ones back

but still you should test the card in another computer/motherboard that's compatible with a gtx900 to insure it is not dead

I just thought it was odd that two guys came in with the same issue back to back
them 970's just aint looking so good

well I said for awile to avoid the hurried uped x-mas rush release cards and got bashed for it - but now the ''new - better '' gtx 970s are showing up

like the new one from evga and I was looking over the ces reports like the ones now from msi --

like this guy and I talked about here

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2459992/evga-gtx-970-ftw-original.html

I wish they were not tight liped on the msi specs to see if the board has the improvements like the added vrm ??

I've already got an AMD card so I'm not going to make that mistake again, I'll stick with Nvidia thanks.

I hear ya ,, that's where I am at these days -- I'm not really hurting for a new card, but I would like to see whats what on that first .. I do feel i'll be swinging toward a NVidia ... amd has let me down all the way around these days

anyway I hope you enjoy the new card and it all works out for you well

good luck

Thanks, that's cards plural by the way though. :D

ya I got issues with this and posting I have to go back and do lots of changing/fix of words and enter and still post wrong ?? I did see other guys state this here also?????

so I just for the most part gave it up and let it ride

and only here .. sorry for the typo's

heck I had to come back and fix this
